Week 22a: Self Control + Self Direction= God Required

Self Control is my Benjamin Franklin character trait this week.  As well as learning how to direct ourselves as we close out our class this month.  Has it REALLY been 6 months!?  Have we really done all of this work?  Have we really completed this transformation?  Have I really BLOGGED this long?  Have I really listened to OLD teachers and learned amazing NEW thoughts?!

OOOOooooo, the linking is happening this week!  Og says in Scroll 6, “Strong is he/she who forces his/her actions to control his/her thoughts.”

As we are self directing, we are choosing what we read on a daily basis.  Emerson is sooooooooooo dry, but I attempted a couple of pages.  Reviewing Haanel chapters is a lot of fun.  I have different colors of pens for different days/times that I highlight.  Then I note on the top of the page what date each color represents.  I find different nuggets each time!

AND it’s in the Blue Print Builder!!  “I devote 10 minutes daily to developing self-confidence.”

“I have developed sufficient self confidence for its attainment.”

We can do what we are able to do, but we HAVE to let God do the rest.  Having confidence in HIM gives us God-Confidence.  “Self” is way over-used.  Yes, we have to have action and do our silent time, but we must TRUST fully in Him who gives us our life, ideas, and dreams.

2 Corinthians 3:4 says, “Such confidence we have through Christ toward God.”

Proverbs 25:28 says, “ A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.”

Be confident through Christ.  Be self-controlled, disciplined, and not wavering.  Because “YOU are master of YOUR emotions!” –Mandino
